Turmoil at OpenAI

Back in March of ‘23, a lot of leaders asked for a 6 month pause in AI research. Well, I think they just got that. OpenAI was the clear winner of the LLM AI arms race, but now...it is probably anyone’s game again. It already seemed to be going this way to begin with, given the rapid advancement of Open Source and other LLMs such as Llama 2, Mistral, et al.

November seems to be the regular recurring month of excitement for AI. This year has a slightly different type of excitement, but excitement none the less.
